Overview
As of present three chapters operate under the auspices of the Canadian National Committee to advance the cause of gender equality and women empowerment. These chapters are regional in nature and work at the grass-roots level to spread awareness and raise funds for the alleviation of violence against women, alleviation of poverty, Haiti earthquake relief and economic security of women and families. The four chapters for UNIFEM Canada are located in major Canadian cities; Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg.
